In 2003, Jeffrey Pechter created Mindful Capital Group following a successful, experienced career in commercial real estate. Just as the name implies, Mindful manages with the philosophy of what is good for their partners is good for them. A combined 50 years in the property management business taught the principals what it takes to operate in various economic conditions, create value within those conditions, and most importantly, not only to accept change, but to create it.
Since the company’s inception, Jeffrey and the Mindful team have acquired and developed more than 2.2 Million square feet of commercial real estate, primarily self-storage. In 2016, Mindful successfully completed a sale of most of its storage portfolio. The disposition included 27 properties exceeding 1.5 Million square feet across Florida, North Carolina and Maryland, trading for $371 Million. After the portfolio sale, the company shifted its focus to the acquisition of Value-Add Industrial and Flex properties. Over the past three years, Mindful has successfully completed 15 acquisitions of Small-Bay Industrial and Flex assets totaling more than 800,000 SF in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

Jeffrey Pechter
Founding Partner
Co-founder and acting Chief Executive Officer of the Mindful Group. Jeffrey is a graduate of the Daniels School of Business at University of Denver. Prior to creating Mindful, Jeffrey was responsible for the management of over two million square feet of commercial property at Tristar.
Patrick Carney
Managing Partner
As part of overseeing all company operations and asset management, Patrick is responsible for the sourcing and underwriting of the Mindful portfolio. Since 2017, Patrick has successfully consummated acquisitions, dispositions and JV equity contributions in excess of $250M.
Growing up in his family’s construction business, Patrick gained in-depth knowledge of the vertical construction and land development processes. Prior to joining Mindful, Patrick worked in commercial real estate brokerage and development focusing on sales, leasing, financing and development of retail and office assets. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
